Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. Learn how Renewal Radar handles your data.
Last Updated: January 2026
Renewal Radar ("we", "us", "our") built the Renewal Radar mobile application (the "App") as a personal organisation tool to help you track item information and reminders.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect (if any), how it's used, and the choices you have.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.
1. Summary (Plain English)
- Your item data stays on your device by default.
- If you enable iCloud Sync (Premium feature), your data is stored and synced via Apple iCloud.
- We do not access, read, or sell the item information you enter.
- Payments and subscriptions are handled by Apple via the App Store.
- If you email support, we'll receive what you send us.
2. Who We Are (Data Controller)
For the purposes of applicable data protection laws (including the UK GDPR), Renewal Radar is the "data controller" for the limited personal data we may handle (primarily support communications).

3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Enter in the App
The App allows you to enter and store item information (for example: provider name, renewal date, notes, and any other details you choose to add).
By default, this information is stored locally on your device. We do not automatically receive or collect it.
3.2 iCloud Sync (Premium Feature)
If you subscribe to Renewal Radar Premium and enable iCloud sync, your App data may be stored in and synced through Apple iCloud (e.g., CloudKit). iCloud is provided by Apple and is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
Important: We do not run our own cloud database for your item content (unless you later add such a feature and update this policy). Data synced via iCloud is stored in your Apple iCloud account.
3.3 Purchases and Subscriptions
All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store using your Apple ID. We do not receive your full payment details (such as card information). We may receive limited purchase-related information needed to validate your subscription status (e.g., whether a subscription is active).
3.4 Support Communications
If you contact us (for example via email), we will receive the information you include in your message (such as your email address and the contents of your email). We use this only to respond to you and provide support.
3.5 Data We Do Not Intentionally Collect
We do not intentionally collect:
- Your documents or full item contents (other than what you choose to type into the App)
- Your precise location
- Your contacts
- Your microphone or camera data
- Advertising identifiers for ad targeting
4. How We Use Information
We use information only to:
- Provide and maintain App functionality on your device
- Enable iCloud sync if you choose to use it
- Validate Premium subscription access
- Respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues
We do not use your information for:
- Behavioural advertising
- Selling data to third parties
- Building marketing profiles
5. Notifications and Reminders
The App may send you notifications (e.g., renewal reminders) if you enable notifications in your device settings.
Notification delivery is handled by Apple's notification services. We do not need to collect your item content to deliver local reminders.
6. Sharing and Disclosure
6.1 Your Choices (Exports and Sharing)
If you use features like PDF export or share files from your device, you control where that data goes (e.g., email, messaging apps, cloud drives). Once you share data outside the App, it is governed by the privacy practices of the destination service and recipient(s).
6.2 Service Providers / Third Parties
We may rely on Apple services to operate core functionality:
- Apple App Store / StoreKit (subscriptions and billing)
- Apple iCloud / CloudKit (optional sync)
- Apple Push Notification Service (notifications)
These services are provided by Apple and governed by Apple's policies and terms.
6.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation
- Protect our rights, users, or others
- Prevent fraud or security issues
7. Data Retention
- Local data: Stored on your device until you delete it or remove the App.
- iCloud data (if enabled): Stored in your iCloud account until you delete it (including by deleting the App's iCloud data via Apple settings).
- Support emails: Retained only as long as needed to address your request and for reasonable record-keeping.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection laws (including the UK GDPR), such as:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you (typically limited to support communications)
- The right to request correction or deletion of your personal data
- The right to object to or restrict certain processing
Because your item content is stored locally (and optionally in iCloud under your control), the most direct way to delete that content is:
- Delete entries inside the App, and/or
- Delete the App from your device, and/or
- Manage/delete the App's iCloud data via Apple iCloud settings
To exercise rights relating to support communications, contact us at renewalradar@erswell.co.uk.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information we handle (such as support communications). However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
For iCloud sync, security is provided through Apple's iCloud architecture and your Apple ID account security settings.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
If you believe a child has provided us personal data via support communications, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. International Data Transfers
If you use iCloud sync, your data may be processed and stored by Apple in various countries as part of providing iCloud services, according to Apple's terms and policies.
Support communications may be processed in the United Kingdom and/or other locations where email infrastructure is located.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, via the App or an update notice). The "Last Updated" date at the top shows when this policy was last revised.
